Crow\u2019s feet and wrinkles are making you look older than you are or feel. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.calabasasdermcenter.com\/facial-concerns\/lines-and-wrinkles\/\">If you are concerned with fine lines and wrinkles<\/a>, there is a way to address and correct them. You don\u2019t find the idea of surgery at all appealing, especially with the cost and recovery period involved and even the most expensive night cream makes little difference. Facial fillers may be of interest to you. You may be an ideal candidate for Botox injections around the eyes.<\/p>\n<h2>How Botox Works<\/h2>\n<p>Botox is a drug made from a neurotoxin. It derives from the bacteria and toxins of botulinum. Long before Botox was used for cosmetic purposes, it was part of a regimen to relieve muscle spasms and severe pain throughout the body, as it paralyzes muscle activity.<\/p>\n<p>Botox has been used to relieve facial spasms since 1977. It was discovered during these medical procedures that many patients were less wrinkled and getting fewer new wrinkles. So, in 1996 the use of Botox was approved for cosmetic facial use.<\/p>\n<p>An injection of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.calabasasdermcenter.com\/facial-cosmetic-procedures\/botox\/\">Botox around the eyes blocks the nerve impulses that cause muscle contractions<\/a>. When the muscle is not allowed to contract those pesky lines and crow\u2019s feet will noticeably soften and sometimes disappear altogether. The injection is done in the upper third of the face and targets 11 lines involving the brows, crow\u2019s feet and forehead.<\/p>\n<h2>Results and Follow-up<\/h2>\n<p>Many women are very pleased with the results of their Botox treatments. There are a couple of options for follow-up:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimally, the Botox procedure should be repeated every six months.<\/li>\n<li>Some people prefer a follow-up every two to three weeks. This method uses a minuscule amount of Botox, and some feel it promotes a more natural appearance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Other Options<\/h2>\n<p>If you have droopy lids and deep creases and suffer from sun damage or soft tissue atrophy, Botox may not provide ideal results. Other options include dermal fillers such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.calabasasdermcenter.com\/facial-cosmetic-procedures\/dermal-fillers\/\">Juvederm<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.calabasasdermcenter.com\/facial-cosmetic-procedures\/dermal-fillers\/\">Radiesse<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.calabasasdermcenter.com\/facial-cosmetic-procedures\/dermal-fillers\/restylane\/\">Restylane<\/a> to name a few.
