IPL Fotofacial Treatment for Minor Acne Scars, Rosacea and Redness
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Fotofacial is a treatment for skin care issues ranging from minor acne scars, rosacea and redness to hyper pigmentation and broken capillaries.
The primary purpose of the treatment is to restore the skin's youthful appearance. Our IPL in Malibu treatment is a cosmetic dermatology procedure and can be performed by the experienced practitioners at the Calabasas Dermatology Center.
How does the IPL Fotofacial treatment work?
The IPL Fotofacial procedure uses a carefully calibrated intense pulsed light which identifies particular pigments in the skin such as darker discolored areas, redness, and dark spots from acne scarring. No anesthesia is needed for IPL Fotofacial treatments, and patients undergoing the procedure experience very little pain. It actually feels similar to the gentle snap of a rubber band touching the skin's surface.
The laser used in the IPL Fotofacial penetrates deep beneath the surface of the skin with each snap, treating the skin issues at their origin. To eliminate sun spots, redness and past acne scars, patients usually need a series of treatments. The skin continues to improve for weeks following the treatment, and the IPLFotofacial procedure can really make a huge difference in the patient's skin over a period of time.
What to expect during your IPL Fotofacial treatment
The IPL Fotofacial procedure is amazingly fast, lasting just thirty minutes to an hour from start to finish. In addition, there are very few side effects associated with the procedure. The most common side effect is a short period of facial redness, but this redness normally recedes within an hour. Upon completion of the procedure, the patient can recommence their daily activities, while protecting themselves from too much sunlight.
The certified dermatologists of the Calabasas Dermatology Center are pleased to serve the residents of southern California and to offer the best treatments of IPL Malibu and it's surrounding areas have to offer.
