Dr. Weitzbuch and the team here at Calabasas Dermatology Center have always been devoted to your safety and comfort — and particularly so in these stressful and trying times. To help everyone still receive care, for the conditions that allow it, we are very pleased to announce and make available to you our new Video Consultation and Telemedicine functionality.
What is Telemedicine?
Telemedicine uses a secure electronic or digital means of connection between a patient and a care provider. Means of connection can include cell phones, computers and online web portals. From work, from home or from anywhere in the world, a patient can reach out and connect with us for an evaluation, diagnosis and, in many cases, a treatment regimen as well. While telemedicine naturally has its limitations, it has been in use since the late 1950s and is today used by millions in America and around the world.
What Calabasas Dermatology can Provide at this Time:
- For many in California, although this is certainly a stressful and unusual time, it can also be a fantastic opportunity for patients to get their questions answered and plan out their own and their family’s beauty goals, pediatric skin plans and dermatological needs.
- We also welcome all patient questions on post-procedural maintenance
- We offer consultations with our cosmetic nurse on any cosmetic procedure we deliver.
- Common telemedicine derm visits include acne, eczema, rashes, skin lesions, and skin cancer treatment consults.
Is Calabasas Dermatology open for Non-Elective Procedures at this time?
Absolutely, on a limited basis, by appointment only. The current orders from the California Governor, mandate that only elective procedures be rescheduled, and the orders also require that healthcare visits be done remotely as much as possible. The Governor’s “Stay Home Except for Essential Needs” order asks that you, “Contact your health care provider to see what services they are providing.” Hence, this page.
In accordance with that same order, the State Public Health Officer also designated “Essential Critical Infrastructure Workers,” under which sector we fall. The simple distinction to be made is whether your procedure is elective or imperative.
We will see all patients at the office requiring urgent attention on a case by case basis and we look forward to servicing you.
If you feel you need it, we will also provide a letter on our office’s letterhead confirming that you are in fact travelling to or from a necessary procedure from an authorized healthcare provider.
