RADIESSE for Radiant Looking Skin
RADIESSE is a safe and effective dermal filler used to restore volume to the skin, fill wrinkles, and stimulate the body's natural production of collagen. This non-surgical procedure provides immediate results and has been shown to last for a year or longer.
How it Works
RADIESSE is injected directly into the affected area using a tiny needle that is placed under the surface of the skin. This dermal filler has been FDA approved to be mixed with the anesthetic lidocaine which helps to significantly reduce pain at the injection site. Patients report a high level of satisfaction with natural-looking results.
The initial benefit of the treatment comes from the filler itself, which is made of Calcium Hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres that are suspended in an aqueous gel carrier. CaHA is one of the heaviest of facial dermal fillers, making it well suited to filling moderate to severe facial creases. The formula’s ability to stimulate the body to create more natural collagen produces longer-term results as well. Over time, the CaHA microspheres will be metabolized, but the collagen will remain. This means that the skin will continue to have a youthful, voluminous appearance long after the filler has dissipated.
Common Treatment Areas
RADIESSE is typically used to fill wrinkles around the mouth and chin and can reverse aging signs such as sunken cheeks and a downward-drooping mouth. This dermal filler can also be used to reshape areas of the nose, smoothing bends and bumps and contouring the nasal bridge. It has been proven to be an effective cosmetic treatment for aging hands that may have been affected by thinning skin and an increased appearance of the underlying veins and bones.
Advantages of RADIESSE
RADIESSE can be combined with BOTOX® and other dermal fillers which can increase the effectiveness and duration of each. Your doctor will be able to choose the combination of procedures that will provide you with the best results.
This minimally-invasive non-surgical procedure requires no incisions, sutures, and no downtime. The active ingredient is a mineral-like compound and since the formula is made without animal products, the risk of allergic reaction is minimal.
Possible Side Effects
Although negative side effects are rare, RADIESSE may cause redness, swelling, pain, bruising, itching and other local side effects. When used on the hands, bumps, lumps, and nodules may also occur at the injection site.
